If you were to ask a Catalan grandmother for her secret, she wouldn't show you a diet book. She'd point to her Sunday table, surrounded by fifteen people all talking at once. In this fast-paced world, we tend to grab a bite in front of the computer or on the go. But did you know this solo eating increases your stress hormone levels?

In the Mediterranean lifestyle, a meal isn't "refueling"—it's a social event. When we sit down together, the laughter and storytelling begin, and our cortisol levels immediately start to drop. Our brain produces "happiness hormones," which aid digestion and strengthen the immune system.

Here in Spain, the essence of "tapas" is also about sharing: many small dishes in the middle of the table that everyone partakes in. This gesture strengthens bonds and reduces isolation.

Sára's Challenge for You

This week, organize a "Mediterranean dinner" at least once. It doesn't have to be complicated! Just some good cheese, olives, a little wine, and your best friends.

The rule: put your phones in a basket at the door and focus only on each other.

You'll feel the stress melt away, replaced by that special zest for life that we experience here every day.
